Coming back to France alone
For those who have travelled for an extensive period of time, you know how hard it is to come home. You have to adjust back to everything : the culture, the food and even the language.
Thankfully, while still being in Australia, I had started applying for jobs in France. After recovering from the jet lag, I did a couple of job interviews, and got a job as a chief receptionnist in a four star hotels with 19 rooms, right at the beach. I am so happy !!!
Coronavirus
I had everything planned before this pandemic hit the world. I was supposed to start work on the 30th of March, but I still haven’t started… Also Taya was meant to arrive on the 20th of May, the frontiers being closed until further notice, we had to cancel her flights.
All of this has seriously impacted my mental health. Some days I didn’t even want to get out of bed, so I had to keep myself and my mind busy.
I would go for walks (about an hour) a few times a week. There’s nothing better than getting some fresh air. I have also discovered a new passion for photography, and got myself a new flexible tripod.

Our long-distance relationship
Taya and I have been in a long-distance relationship for a bit more than 3 months now. We definitely had to ajust, first with the time difference that used to be 10 hours and is now of 8 hours. It means that when I am about to go to bed, she is waking up to go to work.
Then came the long hours on the phone (when you love someone, you definitely don’t count how many hours you are spending with the loved one), and learning how to live without your other half.
With the current situation, we have no idea how long it’s will be until she can come to France, but we know that soon we will be together. This situation has nothing to do with us, and we try not to talk about it everyday. Sometimes it’s super hard when your better half is on the other side of the world and you miss her so much.
I really do hope that she will soon be able to meet my family, they can’t wait to get to know her. We are going through a hard time, but this will only make us stronger. I love you baby (I know you’re reading this !)
Finally, I would like to thank everyone who took the time to make sur I was okay.
