I hope you’re okay!
I finished my work on November 4th, just a week ago. A little pinch in the heart is an experience that ends. Emelyn and her sister Rachel bought me a cake for my departure on Friday, and we went to lunch together on Monday lunchtime. They asked me what I had more in the job, thanked me for everything I had done, it warmed my heart. Then I had to return my work phone and the office keys. It may sound weird but it was only then that I realized it was my last day of work.
I took the train on Monday night to Kilmore, to spend the week there. I still had my apartment until the 11th, but I didn’t really see the point of staying in town when I had finished working.
Taya lives with her two roommates, Jayde and Matt, who have been in a relationship for just over six months.
Tuesday being a holiday, we spent the day with Taya: fat morning, a few races, and a marathon of movies/series on TV, relaxing day!
Wednesday is always a big day for Taya who works in the morning from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and then from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Jayde and Matt had invited me to go shopping for Christmas. I met Jayde’s mother, very nice! In the evening, we dined at an all-you-can-eat Japanese restaurant, for only $35 per person, a delight! Back home, Taya returns a few hours later, exhausted from her day.
On Thursday she works from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. It was also Jayde’s 23rd birthday. Matt’s sister, Talesha, being there for a week, we went all 4 to have breakfast for Jayde’s birthday. Then they took me to Seymour, where I found Taya after his work. We had lunch with his mom, before we took the train back to Kilmore. Quiet evening at home, Taya decides to make her passport, yes!
On Friday morning, breakfast in love, then we go to the post office for the final formalities for Taya’s passport. She goes to work around 11:30, and I spend the afternoon with her mom and sister. Around 3 p.m., the post office calls to tell us that a piece of one of the administrative papers (triangles and squares, what?!). With a family friend and Lillian (Taya’s mother), we go back and forth between the post office, the bookstore, Taya’s job (we need her signature). 1 hour later, everything is settled, the passport should arrive in three weeks, if it’s not a proof of love that!
As Taya starts at 7am on Saturday, it’s easier for us to sleep at her mom’s, even if we have to get up at 5:30… A quiet evening at home, we eat roast chicken sandwiches, a delight!
The night is short, Taya is busy for her work, I go back to bed and I join her around 1pm on the train.
Back at the CBD, a little shopping (my Pants Levi’s is holed in the leg entrance, it must be said that he will have lived well!), Taya finds a coat, a bit like mine, that suits him super well!
We meet my cleaners for dinner, and spend a pleasant evening, perhaps a little too alcoholic some will say 😂
Sunday we have an appointment with Jayde, Matt, and Talesha and a friend, to go to Sexpo (you’ll have guessed the theme I hope!). An experience, a little too intense for our taste, not sure that we will return 😂
We have lunch on the go, and I send a message to Ian to see if he wants to have a drink together. Turns out he’s with Ali (remember, the night receptionist in South Yarra). We all meet all four at the bar transport, we talk, I hadn’t seen Ali since June!
Back home, we make the latest machines, we prepare the bags for the move.
Wake up early this morning, we wash the sheets, we clean the apartment, Richard is not even there for the keys, we put them in the microwave (these Australians I swear!).
Head for the train to Kilmore (that’s where I write) with our bags. Taya works from 3pm to 10pm today, and no one is home, so maybe I’ll meet her mom and spend the afternoon in Seymour, instead of sitting home alone and bored.
Update: Here I am at the station, waiting for the train to meet Lillian and Emily (Taya’s sister) in Seymour this afternoon.
So I officially moved to Kilmore today, it’s a bit of a quiet place compared to downtown. I would surely have more time to write articles on the site!
